Ashlee Simpson: Redemption?

Ashlee Simspon was most famous for being the little sister of singing sensation and media darling Jessica Simpson. She was considered the “black sheep” with the gravelly voice, rock music, and big nose. She did a little singing, a little acting (anyone remember ‘7th Heaven’?), but just couldn’t seem to step out of the shadows of her big sister.
She released her first CD, Autobiography, in 2004, and it hit platinum in its first week. Seemed her star was on the rise…UNTIL her infamous performance on Satruday Night Live, when she was caught lip synching! She went down faster than Milli Vanilli!
Ashlee has spent the past two years hoping people will forget the incident, and trying her best to reinvent herself. Or re-CREATE herself? Seems she had a nose job (good work!) in 2006, and has shed more than a little baby fat. During her own transformation, seems big sis began having her own problems: divorce, weight issues, poor album sales. Could the tables be turning for the Simpson sisters?
In October of 2006, Ashlee took to the stage as Roxie Hart, in the London production of Chicago. She seemed a surprising choice, given her recent poor album sales and negative press. Well surprise! She has won rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic for her singing and acting in this role! Here she is attending an All Star performance of Chicago in NYC.
