While Pierce Brosnan may have walked away from the role of James Bond, he is still shooting. These days though, the actor has traded in 007’s legendary Walther PPK pistol for a Canon camera! After a shopping trip to Malibu’s Ralph Lauren boutique with his wife Keely Shaye Smith, Brosnan turned the tables on the paparazzi.
Pierce Brosnan has said that all of the films he has ever made are personal, because so much of himself as a man, and as an actor, is put into the characters he plays. It is interesting to note then how many similarities there are between him and his characters. Both Brosnan and at least two of his most famous characters seem to enjoy many of the finer things life has to offer. Cars for example: In his 4 films as Bond, Brosnan drove luxury BMWs. As Thomas Crown in the 1999 remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, he is chauffeured in a Bentley Arnage. Here he is seen getting into his own vehicle; a silver Aston Martin Vanquish.
Pierce Brosnan and his characters also seem to share an interest in unique timepieces. Seen here, he is wearing a Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 wristwatch. James Bond was often recognized wearing his signature Omega Seamaster watch, and Brosnan in fact appeared in ads for Omega for many years. As billionaire Thomas Crown, Brosnan wore a Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso timepiece. All are interesting choices in understated luxury.
