Katie Holmes led a very quiet, very un-Hollywood life during and shortly after her run as Joey Potter on the WB’s hit TV series Dawson’s Creek. Enter Tom Cruise into her life in 2005, and she becomes and remains a darling of the paparazzi. Gone are the bookish, casual, under- the- radar styles of the pre-Tom Katie. “Kate” as she is now called, is never caught looking unprepared to charm the cameras, and her every move is followed by a swarm of photographers.
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise do not exactly seem to be running from the media attention they receive either. Whether they are out for dinner, at a friend’s wedding, at the beach, or out to support their kids’ sports teams, we see their every move. And what’s amazing: Katie Holmes never looks less than perfect. She seems to be an at ease mother who has quickly come to love the camera and the attention her family gets. She has famous friends (Posh and Becks to name a few) and has become strictly A-list with fashion designers such as Giorgio Armani.
Seen here, Katie takes in the first soccer game of friend David Beckham, playing for the LA Galaxy. You would assume the soccer star would get all of the attention as he makes his debut for his new team. Not so when Katie, Tom and daughter Suri are present, even amongst a sold out crowd of 27,000 fans. Katie looks chic with her newly cropped hair and fashion forward ensemble. She is also sporting Cartier’s Stainless Steel Ladies Roadster watch. With its silver guilloche and deployment buckle, it is very sporty, and very stylish. She is a far cry from your average soccer Mom!
