Julia Roberts: Pretty Woman or Plain Jane?

There is no question that Julia Roberts is a megawatt star. Her signing on to a movie almost guarantees the project will be a box office smash. In fact, earlier this year the total box office receipts from all of the films she has starred in surpassed the $2 billion dollar mark. This makes Julia Roberts the biggest female movie star of all time.
Despite winning an Academy award (Erin Brockovich, 2001), having many celebrity best friends (Oprah, George Clooney), and being the highest paid actress in Hollywood, Julia Roberts has not let fame go to her head. She chooses to raise her family in New Mexico, out of the spotlight, and isn’t one to get caught up in the glamour of Hollywood.
Case in point: At the world premiere of her new film Charlie Wilson’s War, held at Universal Studios in Hollywood, California, Julia looks rather plain. Not bad, just simple. In a black Dolce and Gabbana dress, and a very subdued gold bracelet and earrings by Cathy Waterman, she looks like she could be going to a company Christmas party. Of course at HER party you may find her costars, (and fellow Academy Award winners and nominees) Tom Hanks, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Ned Beatty!
