John Mayer: “I’m Not a Watch Snob!”

John Mayer is on top of the world these days. Recently named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people, John is enjoying success on both a professional and a personal level. Having won 2 Grammy awards this year (bringing his total to 7 in his short career thus far!) he has also been delighting in the company of his girlfriend of one year, Jennifer Aniston. You might even say he is having the time of his life.
Speaking of time, John has become quite a collector of timepieces. After marking his early success with the purchase of a Rolex Explorer II, John quickly realized that collecting watches was something he felt quite a personal and passionate connection to. His is not an interest based on flash or popularity. No, John Mayer is someone who likes to research his watches, and make choices based on pieces that he loves to wear, and that make him happy. These are watch lovers watches indeed. And it is the IWC that he is seen wearing here, that John Mayer says is the watch that will get passed down to his kids.
Recently in discussing his love of watch collecting, he told In Style magazine: “A man’s got two shots for jewelry: a wedding ring and a watch. The watch is a lot easier to get on and off than a wedding ring!” Hmmm…are you listening Jennifer Aniston?
