Haute for Christmas |

Each year, in the months of November and December there are a few watch brands that seem to heat up virtually like clockwork. Through much of the year, companies like IWC, Audemars Piguet, Omega and Rolex enjoy a consistent demand, but during the holiday season, they don't show the same kind of intense surge that a select group of brands do.
For ladies' watches, Harry Winston is one brand that we see explode during November and December, with customer inquiries and sales for these timepieces catapulting 40% or more; the popular models from Harry Winston always seem to be the Avenue C and the ladies Premier Chronograph. Piaget is another propulsive Christmas brand that is seeing similar sales increases. Look to the ladies' Polo diamond and the new large Tonneau to lead the charge for Piaget.
On the men's side, German watch maker Glashutte Original is an unexpected holiday favorite. Riding upon the success of the recent Sport Evolution collection, Glashutte Original has demonstrated a 30%-plus growth from October to November 2007. Also seeing some significant growth is Chopard, a brand that has catapulted themselves into the watchmaking world with the their sporty Mille Miglia and connoisseur-oriented L.U.C collections. Chopard is a brand that has come on strong in the last few years and should enjoy a corresponding sales success this holiday season. |
