The Girard-Perregaux column wheel mechanism is one of the smallest chronograph movements in production. The mechanism construction allows to discover the column-wheel on the dial side of the watch.

The column wheel is the center steel command on the chronograph function recognizable with its upright columns. It controls all important operations in a chronograph mechanism and ensures precision guaranteeing a zero delay in the start, stop and reset functions.
