When it comes to ladies' watches, in the past, small and delicate seems to have been the trend. Often, the smaller the woman, the smaller her watch would be. So what do you say when you see the super-slender of Hollywood sporting HUGE men’s watches? Apparently Elle Macpherson has said “Super size me!”
Elle Macpherson has been in the public eye and in the forefront of the fashion world for over twenty years. As a supermodel and business woman, she is very much in touch with what is in style. So if big watches are now the IT item for women, Elle Macpherson would know!
Seen here, Elle is out for a day of shopping at Beverly Hills hot shop Kitson. Wearing a simple black shift dress and some gold bangles, one might wonder if her men’s gold Rolex Daytona is weighing her down! The Daytona is a 40mm watch, and one favored by many MEN in Hollywood: Brad Pitt, Paul Newman and Matt Lauer. In comparison, a ladies' Rolex watch is a diminutive 26mm! There is no question that this watch makes a statement!
While Elle Macpherson is a trendsetter, she is not the only super model to super size it – Heidi Klum also wears a man’s Rolex Daytona! Do you think this look is good for everyday wear for the non-model crowd? Are small delicate ladies' watches a thing of the past?
