Debra Messing: Prom Queen or Belle of the Ball?
|
How much is too much? Are you someone who prefers your jewelry style to be a clean and minimal look? Or do you like to wear everything in the jewelry box all at once? Looking at this photograph of Debra Messing, you may jump to the conclusion she is the latter. Perhaps, but seen here, Debra Messing is actually dressed to host the 11th Annual Costume Designers Guild awards in Beverly Hills. Oh, so it’s a costume?
As host of an awards show for outstanding design in costumes, it is not surprising that as host, Debra Messing changed outfits 3 times during the event. Walking the red carpet, Debra Messing wore a champagne colored bustier evening dress, showing several different jewelry pieces from event sponsor Swarovski: chandelier earrings, a bracelet, a brooch and a tiara. Swarovski isn’t the only jewelry brand involved at theses awards; Italian design house Bvlgari actually designed the statuettes that are presented to the winners!
Debra’s attire later in the show represented both ends of the fashion spectrum. Wearing a shocking yellow dress with orange leather gloves and a red wig, Debra seemed to be paying tribute to Lucille Ball. Then finally, her third costume change showed her glamorous side. In a beaded Elie Saab Haute Couture gown, Debra Messing was dripping in diamonds; chandelier earrings from Bochic, a very dramatic necklace from Siera and a Stephen Webster bracelet. Now THIS is the Debra Messing you expect to see at awards shows!
The Costume Designers Guild awards certainly brought out some lively ensembles. Do you think Debra Messing looks too Prom Queen-esque to host the event, or would her glamorous ensemble have been a better choice?
