Designed and manufactured exclusively by Audemars Piguet, the Caliber 3090 utilizes a full balance bridge, for optimum stability; affixed to this bridge is the exclusive free-sprung Gyromax balance, which beats at a rate of 19,800 vibrations per hour. The attractive contours of this movements architecture can be admired through the exhibition sapphire caseback; the bridges display fine Cotes de Geneve patterns, and beveled edges, while the nickel-plated, polished steel screws and synthetic ruby jewels sit in countersunk and beveled settings. This movement also offers two small complications--a pointer-type date display, settable via a corrector on the side of the caseband, and also a reserve de marche indicator, which shows the status of the watch's approximately 48-hour power reserve.
