MILLENARY JEWELLERY
The Haute Joaillerie, Classique and Trendy Lines
With their subtle play on ovals and circles, enhanced by the strength of gold and the sparkle of diamonds, each Millenary jewellery collection has its own way of illustrating Le Temps Ovale (“Oval Time”): those moments when our time is our own to savoir.
The Haute Joaillerie line’s endless refinement, the sophistication of Classique, and Trendy’s simple elegance make up a subtle collection, the very picture of this rediscovered private world. Three harmoniously combined figures form its signature pattern: the softness of an oval, framing the perfection of a circle, then the simplicity of the disk, itself accented with a brilliant-cut diamond.
Audemars Piguet has chosen to accentuate these shapes with the simplicity of gold, which the manufacture’s master jewellers have set with a multitude of diamonds in an array of necklaces, chokers, matinee-length necklaces, pendants, drop earrings, rings and bracelets that will highlight the beauty of all the “femmes du monde”.
Millenary Haute Joaillerie
With its lightness and timeless femininity, this line suggests brilliance, while at the same time revealing the beauty and character of the woman who chooses it.
Accentuating the graceful neckline, the choker consists of seven motifs connected to each other and embellished with a pear-shaped pendant that superposes three brilliant-cut diamonds set in delicate ovals of white gold. These motifs create a charming circle that can be sized to fit any wearer thanks to the clasp, a small chain of white gold.
A double chain of white gold, punctuated by eight brilliant-cut diamonds, each set in an oval of white gold, transfers this pattern to a matinee-length necklace. The design is attached to the chain by a line of seven diamonds. It is up to the wearer to match this incredibly modern piece to her wardrobe.
While the drop earrings repeat the motif, which seems to come alive with the wearer’s movements, the hoop earrings and the ring play with a subtle superposition of the ovals and circles.
Finally, the bracelet resembles a lace cuff, whose curve reveals the pattern’s ethereal delicacy.
Continuing with this variation on circles and ovals, Audemars Piguet has created a second Haute Joaillerie set, “Précieuse”, around another motif: an oval of white gold set with diamonds, from which dozens of round diamonds are hung in random fashion, like snowflakes.
The choker interlaces these ovals with infinite subtlety: the number of diamonds decreases as the necklace disappears around the back of the neck, like the rays of the sun at the end of a winter day.
The bracelet wraps these intertwining ovals around the wrist while adding a chain embellished with a small design to the clasp
The pendant brings together seven motifs—the first of which hides the clasp—and suspends them from a fine chain of white gold. An element consisting of three motifs can be added to the chain as a delicate ornament at the nape of the neck.
The clip-on earrings repeat a single motif, while the hoop earrings add a pear-shaped pendant with diamond flakes.
Finally, the ring interlaces three ovals on a band of white gold, creating an amazingly ethereal jewel, like a butterfly poised to take wing.
Millenary Classique
This pure line, available only in white gold set with diamonds, favours the simplicity of ovals and circles, reflecting the motif of the Haute Joaillerie line. The ovals and circles create a line of white gold set with diamonds, here revealed in all their simplicity, while the round diamonds fit perfectly into an oval of white gold.
The first choker is decorated at its centre with the motif, which in this case is embellished with a small pear-shaped pendant consisting of a line of three round diamonds.
The pendant repeats this design and its pendant at the end of a line of ten diamonds, while the bracelet punctuates this fine chain with three motifs.
Though each of these pieces feigns elegant simplicity, they all have a flirty touch: the clasp is adorned with a very short chain ending in the small initials “AP". Finally, the drop earrings are inspired by the pendant, while the hoop earrings refine this variation on the circle.
Millenary Trendy
Two gold ovals, one of which contains a gold circle set with diamonds, form the motif of this light line. There are many variations on this theme—white, yellow or rose gold, few jewels or many—it matters little; each piece is a marvel of elegance and simplicity.
The motif can be used alone, as on the ring or the clip-on earrings, associated with a fine chain as with the drop earrings or the bracelet, or repeated on a chain, as on the long necklace and the matinee-length necklace.
All of these pieces, with their soft, sensual shapes, make perfect matches for Millenary watches and are completely appropriate for everyday wear—probably because they appear to be so absolutely simple, yet are so truly elegant. |
