At just twenty-five, Anne Hathaway has proven herself to be a smart girl…both on the screen and off. Is it a case of life imitating art or vice versa? Either way, it is a welcome change for a young actress in Hollywood these days.
Since her first film role in The Princess Diaries with Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway has shown she has a golden touch. Her roles have been diverse and interesting, and invariably, have been huge successes at the box office. Even working opposite much more experienced actors in films such as Brokeback Mountain, Becoming Jane and The Devil Wears Prada, Anne Hathaway has been able to hold her own – even when she was head to head with Meryl Streep! She has definitely made some smart choices. It seems only natural then, that this starlet will next be starring in a very smart movie...Get Smart, in fact!
In Get Smart, Anne Hathaway plays Agent 99 to Steve Carrell’s secret agent Maxwell Smart. The big screen update of the 1960’s television sitcom also stars Dwayne (formerly ‘The Rock’) Johnson, Alan Arkin and Masi Oka (from TV’s Heroes). Anne brings tremendous glamour to her modern day version of Agent 99, and as in the original series, she often outsmarts the Chief.
Pictured here, Anne Hathaway attends the recent Premiere for Get Smart in Hollywood. Wearing a charcoal Bill Blass gown with a bustier top and black tulle overlay, her skirt was made of charcoal colored feathers. It is an elegant and youthful look with a wink towards the comedic…how appropriate! Anne completed her look with shoes from Christian Louboutin, and jewels from Neil Lane. She wore black diamond pave drop earrings and opal cocktail ring on her forefinger. Looking this good, it’s a shame she plays an undercover agent!
