Anne Hathaway: A Tony Night Out!
|
Has Anne Hathaway EVER walked a red carpet and NOT made the best dressed list the next day? She either has a GREAT stylist, or impeccable taste herself. Anne Hathaway rarely makes a fashion misstep. This week’s appearance at the 63rd Annual Tony Awards was no exception.
Eager to make a leap from the big screen into theatre, Anne Hathaway is getting her chance this summer. Appearing on stage in a production of Twelfth Night at New York’s famed Shakespeare in the Park; Hathaway will appear opposite Audra McDonald – one of the most celebrated Broadway stars of our time. This is a very auspicious beginning in the theatre world for Anne…and did you know William Shakespeare’s wife was named Anne Hathaway?
In celebration of the theatre, and perhaps her own foray into it, Anne Hathaway recently attended the Tony Awards. Introducing the musical performance of Hair, Anne said it is the dream of her lifetime to be amongst the New York theatre scene. Seen here attending the awards, Anne Hathaway looks like somewhat of a dream herself. In her strapless black feathered Oscar de la Renta dress and red satin Casadei heels, Anne looked like someone from another time…Audrey Hepburn, perhaps? Picking up on the spectacular ruby red of her shoes, Anne complemented her gown with a vibrant ruby and diamond cocktail ring from Verdura. Verdura is known for creative jewelry and brightly colored stones, and has been favored by some of the world’s most iconic women, such as Princess Diana and Katherine Hepburn. Anne Hathaway finished her look with Verdura’s diamond chandelier earrings.
Very few film stars can transition seamlessly between the film world and theatre. Do you think this will be the case for Anne Hathaway? Will we see her name in lights on the Great White Way?
