Amy Adams: When in DOUBT, Look Fabulous!
|
The new film Doubt is quickly becoming one of the most talked about movies of the year, especially during this busy awards season. What’s all the buzz about? Well, the all star cast for one; Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams - all past Academy award winners, and triumphant in every role they take on. Add in Tony award winning actress Viola Davis, and there is little Doubt this cast can go wrong!
Originally an off-Broadway play by John Patrick Shanley, Doubt tells the story of moral corruption, suspicions, and conflict amongst the staff of a strict Catholic school in the Bronx, 1964. This is a movie of battling wills in a time of political change, and in an age defined by moral convictions. The superb cast has already begun collecting award after award for their incredible performances.
In the film, Amy Adams plays the role of the hopeful and innocent Sister James; an eighth grade teacher who suspects Father Flynn (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) of paying too much attention to her new black male student. Throughout the movie, the leading actors are all dressed in the appropriate religious attire of the time.
Seen here attending the National Film Board of Review Awards, in a complete break from her character, Amy Adams looks more like the glamorous young film star we have come to know. In a black tulle gown designed by Giambattista Valli, Amy completes her look with diamond dangle earrings and a triple strand diamond and gemstone bracelet, all from Bulgari. Amy Adams is often seen wearing Bulgari jewelry for premieres and awards shows, and she showcases it beautifully!
There is little Doubt Amy Adams will be shining brightly at the Academy Awards, where she is nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actress. Do you think she will win? Who gets our vote?
