A Perpetual Calendar is a calendar complication that automatically adjusts for the varying lengths of months and the leap year cycle. With few exceptions, perpetual calendar watches indicate the day of the week, the month, the four year cycle (or, alternatively, the century) and usually the moon phase. A Perpetual Calendar is generally considered more complicated than an Annual Calendar due to the fact that the Annual Calendar requires one adjustment per year, in February, while the perpetual calendar mechanism will take into account the variability of February, and adjust itself accordingly. |
